Reporting of Tuberculosis by State Laws and Cities
The National Association reports 25 states require tuberculosis reports with living-case registration, while 15 states have no provision. Several states require only listing tuberculosis among infectious diseases. Alaska, Kansas, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii and others lack any reporting law. Some cities have local ordinances mandating reporting. About 100 U S cities have such rules. The association calls for full enforcement to eliminate the disease.
