Batman Forever Opens Big With Aggressive Marketing Push
Batman Forever roars to a record $52.8 million in its opening weekend in 4,300 theaters, aided by a $60 million marketing blitz with McDonald's tie-in. Analysts warn the real test comes next weekend and with word of mouth, as Apollo 13 looms. The film follows two prior Batman hits that drew $251.2 million and $162.8 million, respectively.
