Pro soccer league in critical condition in Baltimore

Baltimore Blast owner Ed Hale says the Major Soccer League is in critical condition and may cease operations by July 1. Five teams remain, including Baltimore, San Diego, Dallas, Wichita, and Cleveland, after Takoma Stars and St. Louis Storm folded. Hale cites impracticality and embarrassment with just five teams and considers options such as an all-star Mexican team or summoning NBA owners to form a summer league. The Blast hope for a quick solution, marking a troubling moment for the league's future.
