Three-car crash in Montgomery leaves one dead
Silver Spring officials report a three car collision Saturday on New Hampshire Avenue near Cannon Road killed 79 year old Choon Shik Pak and injured six others. Leslie Highley 36 of Bethesda and Joseph Nix 30 of Washington were among the injured. Nix died at Suburban Hospital from head injuries. The crash involved Pak turning left onto southbound New Hampshire Avenue. Nix’s vehicle then struck Highley’s, flipped twice, and Nix died. A 76 year old Wheaton resident Ellen Catherine Smith of 2272 Georgia Woods Place was struck by a 1987 Acura driven by David Bernier of Rockville while crossing Georgia Avenue in a crosswalk just north of Randolph Road. She died at Suburban Hospital about 1 39 a m Sunday.

Three charged in crack cocaine sales to informant
Frederick City Police say three people were arrested after allegedly selling crack cocaine to an undercover informant in the 100 block of South Market Street. Maryland State Police say Trooper Gary Martin stopped to assist a disabled vehicle on eastbound I 70 near Monument Road around 10 50 p m and arrested 41 year old Warren Douglas Limmer for driving while intoxicated.
