Ground broken for $3.5 million Frederick post office
Ground was broken Friday for a 60,000 square foot post office processing and distribution center at 1550 Tilco Drive in Frederick’s Industrial Park. Coakley and Williams of Greenbelt will build it, with completion expected in November. The project aims to ease overcrowding parking and noise at the current East Patrick Street facility and move Western Maryland mail downtown. Mayor Jim Grimes calls it an exciting step creating jobs and reducing heavy truck traffic in the city.
