Fire damages Thurmont Lumber building and asks questions
A $1,000 blaze hit the Thurmont Flooring and Lumber Company on Water Street on Saturday afternoon. Guardians Hose Company extinguished the fire, damaging a cornice roof and two large doors. Cause remains unknown as workers had left for weekend. Fire apparatus used multiple streams to control the blaze. Also filed is a commissioner report in Circuit Court on zoning appeals for two housing projects in north Frederick.
