The Most Reverend Bernard J. Mahoney presided as Msgr. Sheridan received the purple vestments of the mons. insigniore in a large Emmitsburg ceremony attended by bishops, clergymen, and notable lay figures. Sheridan, ordained 17 years ago, has served Mount St Mary's as educator and administrator and was inaugurated president last October.

Held On Charge Of Stealing Newspapers
A fifteen year old negro boy Augustus Palm was ordered held for Juvenile Court after a preliminary hearing on a larceny of newspapers from door steps.
