Frederick gears up for the State Firemen's Association three day convention to begin Friday at the State Armory with a two oclock Wednesday kickoff business session. Decorations adorn Market and Patrick streets as headquarters open at West Church street for reservations and accommodations. A 15 by 30 foot stage and sound system prepare the armory for speakers while a History and Archives exhibit traces the association since 1883. A badge display and a large firefighting equipment show accompany demonstrations and ambulances on Second street.

G H Magin Dies At 53 In Maryland Funeral Rites Set
George Henry Magin 53 longtime Taylorsville store operator and later Westminster insurance district manager died Tuesday night at University Hospital Baltimore after extended illness. He served on the Woodbine National Bank board and Mutual Fire Insurance board at Manchester and was active in St Pauls Methodist Church New Windsor. Survived by wife Olive Clary Magin daughter Dora and siblings, the funeral at Taylorsville Methodist Church Friday services led by Rev. Lewis C Robson with burial in the church cemetery.

Renn named to Frederick County Board of Commissioners
A. Irvin Renn, a Frederick stock dealer and Democrat, has been appointed by Governor McKeldin to fill the remainder of Ed ward F. Holter’s term on the Frederick County Board of Commissioners, with a July 1 start. Ramsburg will join the Planning and Zoning Commission, as officials move to adopt an interim county ordinance. The commissioners will temporarily relocate to the grand jury room during office renovations at the Court House.

In Montgomery County Maryland a official said 49 of the county's formerly all white schools will be integrated by next fall. Superintendent Forbes Norris announced 69 more Black students will transfer in September to previously all white schools in the upper county area, adding to the 500 Negroes already attending desegregated schools.
