Washington reports that April personal incomes rose to a 212.8 billion dollar annual rate, aided by a 600 million dollar month-to-month gain. Excluding life insurance refunds of about 345 million, the increase marks the second straight monthly rise, with payroll gains offset by declines in proprietors’ income and transfer payments. Would Mean War Says Soviet Paper on Poland Germany Frontier
Berlin June 2 A Soviet official organ warned that any attempt to gain Poland’s annexation of German territory would provoke a new war. It also claimed the East German government is the legitimate representative of the German people. The paper noted Warsaw and Berlin talks last week on permanent marking of the Oder Neisse frontier, while Western powers say final border must await a German peace treaty. 50,000 Germans expelled from lands now administered by Poland and Czechoslovakia protested the Polish East German accord. The Rundschau said the United States aims to delay frontier acceptance to prevent a German peace treaty, and sees the frontier as provisional until peace.

German-Poland Pact Acknowledged Amid War Tension
The article notes a Potsdam agreement that would cede German territory to Poland and calls for a peace conference, amid warnings that the frontier crisis could spark a world war. It mentions a newspaper quote on wartime strategy and oddly includes a note about sliced pickled beets with hamburgers.
