Van Horn Indicted in Wife Death in Maryland
Van Horn, 52, lumber executive and clubman, indicted for murder by the Baltimore County grand jury over the death of his wife Bernice, a six year old socialite, whose body was found beside an unfinished expressway after a massive chest trauma. Police halted him at the scene and he held officers at bay for nearly an hour before arrest. Autopsy suggested injuries could have been caused by car impact or by assault. He is president of Sierra Lumber Co and son of former B&O official.
