Potomac Basin Sediment Study Finds 102 Contaminants
U S Geological Survey researchers sampled sediment from 22 Potomac River sites and 14 clam tissue sites, testing 139 contaminants and identifying 102. Despite widespread activity and a basin population of 4.6 million, scientists say concentrations are generally not alarming and carry a $1.25 million, six year study plan.
