State approves New Market sewage plant discharge permit
The Maryland DHMH approves expanding the New Market sewage plant from 60 000 to 120 000 gallons per day paving the way for over 200 new homes. Developer Sponseller funds upgrades in exchange for all new sewer taps, with the project aimed at a 97 acre site north of Madot and east of Boyer's Mall Road. The plan includes two test groundwater wells and a public water system expansion, with a rezoning to residential and potential annexation debates noted.
