Scrapping Of Car Line Approved By Court
Annapolis June 9 The Court of Appeals approved scrapping Capital Transit Company's Beltsville carline a three mile two trolley shuttle. The firm said it lost 34915 a year on the 47 year old line running Route 94 between Beltsville and Branchville College Park in Prince George's county. The court held continuing operation at a loss would be taking property without just compensation. It upheld a Baltimore Circuit Court ruling voiding a Public Service Commission order to keep the line running. This follows Capital Transit's earlier win on a fare increase for Maryland operations.

A nine foot long plane marked Property of Army Air Forces was recovered from the sea by a fishing boat two miles off Cozumel Island on the Yucatan peninsula. The gasoline powered craft had a six foot wingspan and no pilot was found. It appears to have been radio guided.
