Fifteen-year-old seatbeltless victim dies in lake road crash
A carload of teens overturned on a curve near Lake Linganore as Belle Edna Friend drove from the lake toward the pool. Karen Denise Biederzycki, 15, of Mount Airy, died at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Four others suffered minor injuries. all but the victim wore seatbelts. Crash remains under investigation with charges pending.

Two arrested in triple murder at country bank
In Northampton County Pennsylvania two men, Stanley Hertzog and Martin Appel, were charged with murder after storming the First National Bank of Bath branch in East Allen Township. A mob shouted threats as police took the suspects into custody about three hours later. Three women employees were killed and others wounded during the morning attack. authorities described two killings as executions. Bail denied. hearing set for June 16.
