Damages award set aside in Maryland truck crash case

A Maryland jury verdict awarding damages to Charles Boone and his wife Jean was set aside by Judge Barrick after a negligence challenge. Boone, a truck driver for Kim bob Inc., was injured when his truck directing traffic at the Francis Scott Key Mall entrance collided with a Frederick Gas Co. truck. The case recorded $145 for the plaintiff and $4,000 as a marital damages award, with the gas company dropped as a defendant on summary judgment. The incident left Boone with a fractured arm and leg, sidelining him from work.
