A declaratory judgment was issued by Circuit Court Associate Judge Patrick Mcha nuffer concerning land once part of Franklin street. the old street adjacent to Fair Grounds, later absorbed, is now owned in part by the Rickerds. The court found the Rickerds rightful owners of one half of old Franklin Street. A separate equity decree granted Anne S. Orden custody of six children and permanent alimony of 70 dollars semi monthly to be paid by William H. Oden, with court costs assigned. Lewistown will dedicate its district war memorial honoring World War I and II service members late in July. The memorial on Lewistown school grounds features masonry by Wilfred G Blank and a bronze plaque listing service personnel. Paul Snowden a 34 year old colored man of Woodville was held in the local jail on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. State Police investigate weekend thefts of two trucks from Union Bridge and Oak Orchard. Snowden, a Crownsville parolee, was arrested at Ridgeville by Trooper B C Hammersmith in connection with the disappearance of Charles H Smelser s truck from his home near Oak Orchard. Officers report no link established yet between the Union Bridge theft and the Oak Orchard incident.

Fredericks new traffic lights at Fourth and Bentz
Frederick introduced new traffic signals at Fourth and Bentz streets Tuesday afternoon. Officials said the system eased the dangerous intersection as north south traffic on Bentz and east west traffic on Fourth now receive simultaneous signals. Police Chief Fred Straley noted the lights reduced brake screeching and predicted they will prove satisfactory. A pedestrian crossing aid light remains to help pedestrians.

Detroit Driver Fined For Crashing Two Cars
Henry J. Bedell, 27, appeared in court on a teckles driving charge. He claimed acceleration stuck and brakes failed as he tried to slow his nine-year-old car, steering went haywire, and he crashed into two vehicles. The judge fined him $10 and banned driving for six months. Bedell protested, saying the ruling was a personal favor.
