Following a three day Maryland Synod convention at Manchester United Lutheran Church of America Rev Dr J S Simon of Hagerstown was reelected president for a second year. Over 150 representatives attended with a program running from Monday morning to Wednesday night. Plans for annual activities were outlined. Rev William A Wade of Baltimore was elected secretary, L Russell Alden of Washington treasurer. Four men were ordained and licenses issued to four others, with a ninth appointed as lay reader.

The sixth annual Baptist Bible School will meet at Braddock Heights from July 16 to 23 with a congregational service kickoff and a five day study period July 17 to 21. Registration opens Monday at 9:30 at the auditorium, book sales for the study course planned, plus trips like Gettysburg and Seeing the Heart of Western Maryland. Daily schedule includes sessions on Woman's Work, Study Classes, Teacher Training, Church Efficiency Conference led by Dr. Agar and lectures by Dr. Wallace and others.
