Carl Jackson, 38, living in a Freeman woods tent near Wal-Mart south of Frederick, asks Animal Control to return his dog Tank after officials cared for the pet following his arrest. Tank is described as a mixed breed pup, about four months old, with Jackson having traveled from York Pennsylvania after adopting him.

Frederick County Circuit Court Judge G Edward Dwyer considered a request to modify the 40 year prison term of convicted killer William Eugene Hartman. Hartman pleaded guilty in 1993 to the death of 80 year old Robert A Evans Jr whose body was found in February 1992 inside a Prospect Park Plaza apartment. Hartman, via an interpreter, argued he was not guilty and says he was tricked into pleading.
