Craft Fair draws crowd amid traffic jam at Frederick
The first National Craft Fair at the Frederick fairgrounds drew hundreds who queued before a 10 a.m. opening. Police managed a five block backup at the west gate as 4,000 car spaces were announced and 468 exhibitors prepared for a weekend event from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission was 2 dollars with parking included. Thunderstorms earlier in the day caused power outages and rain of about one to one and a half inches. Weather outlook remained unsettled with a slight chance of rain into Saturday and fair conditions for Sunday through Tuesday.
