Maryland Taxpayers Get One Month Break on Declares
Maryland taxpayers who estimate their income will gain a one month extension for the second quarterly tax declaration. Comptroller Louis L. Goldstein said the July 15 due date replaces the former June 15 deadline to align with federal timing and allow more time to process over 100,000 annual declarations. Notices will be mailed before July 15 and taxpayers are asked to await installment notices before paying. The amended law, enacted in 1960, still requires filings by April 15 and quarterly payments on July 15, October 15, and January 15.
