Underground restaurant opens near Greentown Indiana
Artene Voorhis and husband Gary opened Indiana’s first underground eatery 20 miles east of Greentown. The Country Cook Inn uses solar heating and earth sheltering to reduce energy use while offering a limited menu of homemade soups hot sandwiches and salads. The pair plan a garden to supply ingredients and signage along acre paths to connect guests with nature.
