Boundary worry as cement firm seeks Sams Creek move
Lehigh Portland Cement asks the Army Corps to shift 4700 feet of Sams Creek on its Union Bridge property to ease quarrying. Carroll County fears changing the stream could alter the Carroll Frederick county boundary, risking 70 acres of taxable property and state funds. Officials seek legal assurances and boundary marking before action. Frederick County supports preserving the current boundary and clear marking if moved.
