New Type Of Coffee Maker Captures Tea Tests In Novel Brew
Baltimore on June 4 1947 industrial designers Fred E Stuart of Baltimore and F O Baldwin Richmond Waterworks chief chemist unveiled a new coffee maker promising strong yet clear brews with no sediment. The device uses a mug shaped outer pot and a inner heated container with a perforated bottom filter paper and dual brewing paths achieving four and a half minutes per cycle. Stuart cites a preferred temperature range of 180 to 210 degrees for optimal coffee flavor. Also included is a brief news item about eye injury to Oscar C Ramsburg and a separate warrant denial involving George Hardy and John Roosevelt.
