Damascus group learns about HOC programs and bonds
Ms Siegel described the HOC as a variation of a state financing agency, noting it has floated 28 million dollars in bonds for 500 low income families including 18 in Damascus. She cited ongoing assistance in Greenhills Ridge Road Plantation Damascus Gardens and said the agency owns 14 acres north of Sweepstakes Road with no building plans. The maximum income for a four person family under some programs is 26000 dollars, and HOC's low interest federal loans have steadied the local construction market, financing 3372 mortgages valued near 200 million dollars last year.
