Funk Fears Maryland Bay Bridge Delay Looms
John B. Funk, chairman of the Maryland State Roads Commission, warned that voters defeating a bill to build a parallel Chesapeake Bay Bridge will halt any second bridge action for two years. He cited petition-driven delays, voter confusion over funding, and that the $7 million would be toll-funded, not tax, with opposition tied to eastern Baltimore County politics.
