City maintains tax rate at 1.56 per 100 value

Mayor Paul Gordon and the Board of Aldermen met in a brief emergency session to keep Frederick city property tax at 1.56 per 100 of assessed value. The 4-0 vote excluded Alderman James Grimes who did not attend.

County OKs 3% half-year COLA hike for workers

Frederick County commissioners approved a 3 percent half-year cost of living adjustment for county, school, and Frederick Community College employees, effective January 1, boosting most salaries about seven percent. GOP chairman's son injured in head on crash near Frederick

Gregory Adam Stull, 23, son of the county GOP chairman Paul Stull, was rushed by state police helicopter to Suburban Hospital after a crash at Md 85 and Md 355. He drove a Ceresville Ford New Holland Inc. truck when he lost control and collided with a tractor trailer at a red light. Rescue crews freed him with hydraulic tools. he is in critical condition with massive internal injuries.
