The Frederick County Board of Education officially broke ground this morning for two new elementary schools, Green Valley near Routes 75 and 80 and Myersville, under a joint $1,862,000 contract with Furman Construction Co. Construction is scheduled to finish in 365 days with September 1971 openings.

Camper Upsets Injuring Two on I 70 Near Myersville
Two Hagerstown residents were injured when a camper overturned on I 70 near the Myersville interchange. Gordon Elmer Cocke, 45, and Alta Marie Cocke, 46, were treated at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown and released. The 1968 car was a total loss and $500 damage to the camper. A separate wreck on U S 40 near Rt 75 injured Charles Januska, 63, who was treated at Frederick Memorial Hospital after a tire blew and caused the pickup to overturn. Damage estimated at $900.
