Lane Rejects Solicitation for State Police Campaign
Annapolis July 29 Governor Lane rejected public contributions to the State Police recruiting drive directing all money collected be returned. He praised the police force but said the public should not fund campaign expenses and requested donors be refunded with thanks. Colonel Beverly Ober was asked to stop the solicitation and report.
