Oscar Green of near Myersville eluded Deputy Haover after the man asked to fetch a forgotten handkerchief. Green slipped from a rear window into a cornfield and fled into the mountains, with officers tracking him from Frederick.
The German Brewing Company of Cumberland buys the Warfield property from Myersville Savings Bank on East Third street. The site will be greatly improved as a wholesale distribution point for the company's products. Two carloads of German beer from Cumberland will be stored in the building’s cold storage. Harvey D. Martz will act as agent for the brewery and the business.
