Severe storm rips Frederick County leaving towns without power
Thunderstorms with 69 mph gusts toppled trees and utility poles across Mount Airy New Market and Green Valley. A lightning strike sparked a 150 year old house fire at 12056 Fingerboard Road in Monrovia, destroying the home. About 15,000 customers lost electricity. 4,000 remained without power 10 am as Allegheny Power crews worked from Cumberland and West Virginia lines.

Officials remove 30 pets from West South Street home
