Man burned in explosion at Glen Echo market

A 37 year old man from McLean Virginia was in critical condition with second and third degree burns over 40 percent of his body after approaching a burning pickup truck that exploded near the Western Market in Glen Echo Monday night. Police say the fire, suspected arson, spread into the market. The owner of the totaled 1979 GMC truck, Michael Wason 22 of Washington, fled and remains missing. Damage is about 6500 dollars.

Man pleads guilty to PCP and marijuana possession

Donald A. McCall, 28, pleaded guilty in Circuit Court to possession of PCP and carrying a concealed 7 inch knife, with other charges also admitted. Read into record were marijuana laced PCP in a jacket, four tin foil packets, and a 7 inch knife found under the seat. Lab tests confirmed PCP and marijuana. Sentencing to be set after a presentence investigation.
