Marylanders Aid South Korean Orphanage With Donations
Last fall M/Sgt. William Mackenzie, son in law of Paul Glass of Emmitsburg, led a drive that gathered 1,044 pounds of clothing, candy, cookies, toys and cash from Frederick County. Donations were mailed to Kunsan City, Korea, for orphans at a new facility supported by Mackenzie's Air Force squadron. The article notes a dedication attended by the mayor of Kunsan and other dignitaries, a feast, and the valued toys. Mackenzie plans to return to Emmitsburg in late July before moving to Columbus, Mississippi, with his wife and four children.
