The Junior High group met Friday evening as Alaska and Hawaii themed decorations filled the Library lobby. A color ful totem pole loaned by Robert Zeigler of the Brethren Service Center aided the display with palm trees from Uniontown Church of God. Nearly a thousand Carroll County youths are registered for the reading club through Davis Library, at 54 bookmobile stops, or at Summer stations in Manchester, Mt. Airy, New Windsor, and Hampstead with volunteer help. About 50 have completed readings and earned a certificate. The program runs through August.
