Reunion brings back freed priest after 19 months
Rev. Lawrence Jenco described 19 months in captivity including six months in solitary and a year shared with other American hostages in Lebanon. Relatives flew to Wiesbaden Germany for an emotional reunion after his release from Damascus. He urged release of other captives Terry Anderson David Jacobsen and Tom Sutherland.

In east Beirut a car bomb struck during the morning rush, killing 32 and wounding 140 as flames engulfed seven apartment buildings. Rescuers pulled dozens from balconies while police and firefighters fought fires and hunted for missing victims. No claim of responsibility was reported.
