The Rev Lawrence Jenco, 51, a Joliet Illinois priest held nearly 19 months by Shiite captors in Lebanon, arrived in Damascus after release. The family sought a spay neuter program and a stained glass window, but says they now want to use the money and sever ties with the society.

Adamstown Liquor License Fight Divides Small Town

In Adamstown a dispute over Harry Wolfe’s bid for a class D liquor license to sell beer and wine from his Mountville Road cafe store divides residents. Some fear crime and drunken driving, while Wolfe argues the request is logical given location between Buckeystown and Point of Rocks. The town, never previously licensed, also struggles with long-standing water contamination and recent debates over industrial solvents.
