Frederick County Commissioners voted to explore federal aid for buying Rose Hill Manor. Rockville Man Drowns in Laos
Michael L. Murphy, 22, of Rockville Maryland, drowned in central Laos while trying to retrieve a lost shoe. He worked with the International Volunteer Services and was attached to Gen Kong Le's neutralist headquarters at Vang Vieng. Murphy and Montgomery Kingsley crossed the Nam Lik River by jeep. Murphy disappeared after reaching the opposite bank to recover the shoe. His body was recovered the next day.

Driver Falls Asleep Car Rolls Over Near Libertytown

Irvin, 3 of Portage, Pa, was charged with failure to drive to the right of center after his 1966 foreign sedan rolled over on Md. 26 about 4:15 a.m. one mile east of Libertytown.
