Martinsburg Stream Sprayed With DDT
A one mile section of Back Creek near Martinsburg West Virginia was sprayed with DDT in water suspension and caused no fish deaths according to Eugene Surber aquatic biologist and Clarence Hoffman. They noted underwater insect life was reduced but fish survived. They plan further studies and project spray applicability to large forests. Lima beans derive their name from Lima Peru via an American naval officer who helped popularize them in New York State.
