Improvement In Gas Supply Predicted For East
Baltimore July 26. Harry R. Wainwright executive director of the Retail Gasoline Dealers Inc for Maryland and Washington predicts gasoline stocks in the East will be sufficient by September to ease driving restrictions. With the 4 inch line already in operation and a 20 inch line to be opened by December, tank cars and barges could bring enough gasoline to the East. He cites concurrence from Office of Defense Transportation officials and notes uncertainty about how much rationing might remain for drivers unless the overall supply brightens. A survey by his organization finds current regional stocks to be good.
