Fathers Get Morning Rain Reprieve From Army Service
Officials granted an additional month postponement for fathers whose first child was born before September 14, delaying inductions to at least October 1. State HQ urged boards not to call in fathers’ class for September. Board One expects a heavy call as older categories exhaust. Twelve men from Board One head to Camp Lee today. among them Meredith A. Redmond a conscientious objector. Showers and thunderstorms brought .17 inch rain, easing a long dry spell but leaving Frederick below normal precipitation for the month.
