Frederick County Dedication Marks New Adult Detention Center
The 128 bed facility, built at about 61 million dollars, will be officially dedicated at 10 am on Friday August 3 with an August 4 open house. Sheriff Snyder notes annual prisoner housing costs around one million dollars based on 86 inmates and a daily rate of 28 dollars. The center features a central control hub with video cameras 24 cells per block and expandable to 224 beds, designed to reduce male female contact and include in house kitchens recreation medical and laundry facilities.
