Fort Detrick Leaders Gifted for 1963 Achievements
Dr. Ralph E. Lincoln of Fort Detrick was among nineteen scientists honored for outstanding work at the U S Army Research Office in Arlington Virginia. Lincoln led anthrax pathogenesis research with experimental animals, contributing to understanding the disease and aiding early detection and potential treatment. The award program, started in 1961, recognizes civilian Army scientists whose work meaningfully strengthens military capability and national welfare. Lincoln’s career spans Iowa State, Nebraska, Purdue, Cornell, and Fort Detrick, with numerous honors and 24 plus publications. He and wife Marie reside at 1625 Shookstown Road.
