Mysterious boy flees Tampico to seek life across Mexico
Jose de Jesus Garcia Aguilera, a nine year old partially deaf boy, left his Tampico home in October to beg for meals and escape hardship. After wandering 700 miles to Ciudad Juarez he was found November 7 and placed at Casa Hogar del Nino in Ciudad Victoria. Officials say he is intelligent, imaginative, and eager for schooling. He now lives with about two dozen peers, attends art and swimming in summer, with a fall start in a special education program to learn sign language and speech.
