Secretary Brannan warned of ample government stocks of butter cheese eggs dried milk and potatoes and urged relief agencies and the CCC to move surplus foods to the needy. He advocated broader authority to dispose of food stocks while stressing national strength amid world conflict and noting recent price jumps in beef hogs sugar and coffee are not tied to farm policy.
