Economic Conditions Report Remains Secret
Washington says the State Department overruled a War Department plan to publish a new study on economic conditions in the American and British zones of Germany. The Moses report, by New York planner Robert Moses, was prepared at the War Department’s request and sparked questions after a New York Herald Tribune story called it embarrassing. Patterson, retiring Secretary of War, said the main points of that story are true and confirmed Moses’ role.
