Poll shows 90 percent favor cutting federal spending

Rep. Goodloe E. Byron said an informal poll of about 15 000 responses from 200 000 mailed questionnaires found 91 percent want less federal spending and lower taxes while 6 percent oppose cuts and 3 percent are undecided. He plans to urge House action on spending cut bills.
