Ray asks Young to intercede for new King murder trial

Philadelphia strike nears end with ratified contract

Man drowns so nephew might live in sea rescue tale

In a nine days at sea voyage from San Diego to the Galapagos Islands a foot sailboat capsized. David P. Lucas 18 and William Quinlan 38 became delirious with hunger and fever aboard a raft. Quinlan sacrificed himself by swimming away to save Lucas who survived aboard the Rosa Oliva. Quinlan’s body was not recovered. Lucas’s mother described Quinlan as heroic for protecting his nephew.

Bee outbreak after truck crash near Waupun Wisconsin

Police responded to a traffic crash on a highway west of Waupun as a flatbed truck overturned carrying about two dozen bee hives. About 1 million bees escaped, officers endured many stings, and five hours of cleanup followed. Beekeepers worked to lure the bees back using broken hive portions, with some success.
