Policeman Held for Murder in Brooklyn Case
New York on July 24 Policeman David Shellard of Brooklyn was arrested charged with the murder of Barbara Beig whose body was found in Williamsburg. He confessed to being with her when she died but claimed she shot herself or the revolver exploded. Deputy Commissioner Wood stripped him of his badge and club after the confession. Heimbach in Boyertown attempted to murder his wife then killed himself after a failed plea for reconciliation leaving his wife unharmed.
