Approximately 170 animals perished as a fire gutted the Robert Fraser farm barn on Md 491 near Fort Ritchie on Wednesday afternoon. Firefighters found the old stone barn fully engulfed after pigs and cattle were killed before arrival. the cause remains under investigation per deputy state fire marshal Ted Meminger.

Two area men charged with selling marijuana in Frederick
Frederick City Police arrested Derrick A. Buckner and Anthony D. Oram on Tuesday night for possession with intent to distribute marijuana and cocaine.
