Wright Ended His Life After Separate Attempts
F Lester Wright killed himself on Saturday evening after two prior suicide attempts in personal crisis. Cousin William Sparrow said domestic troubles were not the cause, noting Wright had been on good terms with his wife. Wright had used carbolic acid once and arsenic once previously but survived each time. He reportedly talked of blowing out his brains if drinks affected him similarly in the future. Wright’s mother reportedly disliked his wife, and family tensions may have preceded the tragedy. In other news, Bruce W Starner, a brakeman on the Frederick–Lancaster line, was transferred to a Baltimore–Harrisburg run, with A A Griffin replacing him on the local.
