Time saver option for bus routes sparks mixed reactions
Montgomery County officials and residents debate allowing school buses to skip a railroad crossing to save minutes for Laytonsville area riders. Some praise potential 3 to 10 minute savings, others warn of safety risks and point to improved roads as a better fix. Meanwhile Gaithersburg leaders recall tragic crossings and bus riders endure lengthy trips as construction and policy debates continue.
